Ho Chiang Scholarship
The Y.C. Ho/Helen and Michael Chiang (Ho/Chiang) Foundation has generously provided a grant to support attendance at the 2024 State of the Science in Hospice and Palliative Care Symposium.
The mission of the Foundation is to help improve the quality of life for patients and families facing serious illnesses. The Foundation was honored to be a recipient of a 2020 Presidential Citation from the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM).
AAHPM with support from the Y.C. Ho/Helen & Michael Chiang Foundation is committed to supporting our next generation of interdisciplinary scientists through this scholarship program. In response to the considerable cost associated with conference attendance, this program is intended to facilitate State of the Science in Hospice and Palliative Care participation and will cover in-person meeting registration and up to $500 for travel-related expenses (airfare, ground travel, hotel, or meals).
Eligibility
Ten scholarships will provide financial support to students, trainees, and early career investigators currently working in the field of hospice and palliative care.
Preference will be given to applicants who:
- are less than 5 years post-training,
- have demonstrated a commitment to research with the seriously ill,
- have demonstrated the need for scholarship funds to facilitate their attendance,
- have been selected to present an abstract, paper or poster, and/or
- are part of an underrepresented minority.

Application for the 2024 State of the Science Ho Chiang Scholarship closed on January 8.

- Upload a Short Bio (100 words or less).
Notification of scholarships will be made in late January 2024.
