The Value of Partnerships

Since its inception, the Hospice Medical Director Certification Board (HMDCB) has seen the value in partnering with other organizations in the field to move forward the goal of improving the quality and professional competency of physicians in hospice care. With the significant workforce shortage of specially trained physicians jeopardizing its ability to meet the demand as the population ages, more voices are needed to amplify the opportunity for gaining recognition as a hospice physician who has the competencies and specialized knowledge.

In the early months of 2018, several voices came together. HMDCB had tremendous help throughout the application cycle from state hospice organizations as well as leaders of several of the largest hospice agencies in the country in spreading the message about the certification.
