HPM FAST

Continuing Medical Education (CME)

AAHPM is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.

AAHPM designates each enduring material for up to 2 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. CME for the HPM FAST Hospice Regulatory module will expire on November 4, 2022.

CME credits expired on March 5, 2021 (for Prognostication, Psychiatry and Cognition and Pediatrics only).

Maintenance of Certification (MOC)

ABIM Maintenance of Certification (MOC) points are available. Earn 2 Medical Knowledge self-assessment points per module toward your MOC Part II requirements. MOC Part II points toward the HPM FAST Hospice Regulatory module will expire on November 4, 2022.

Through the American Board of Medical Specialties ("ABMS") MOC initiative to create a wide array of Maintenance of Certification ("MOC") Activities through the ABMS MOC Directory, HPM FAST Hospice Regulatory, Pediatrics, Prognostication, and Psychiatry & Cognition has met the MOC requirements as a MOC Part II Self-Assessment and MOC Part II CME Activity (apply toward general CME requirement) by the following ABMS Member Boards:

AAHPM endorses the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) standards for disclosure and commercial support and endeavor to ensure balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor for all accredited products and programs. All who are in a position to control or influence the content of an educational activity must disclose any relevant financial relationships with commercial interests.* Disclosure documents were reviewed for potential conflicts of interest and, if identified, they were resolved prior to confirmation of participation. Only those who had no conflict of interest or who agreed to an identified resolution process prior to their participation were involved in this activity.

All editors, authors, reviewers, and staff have disclosed no relevant financial relationships, with the following exceptions:

  • Pediatrics module: Julie Hauer’s husband is an employee at Shire.
  • Prognostication module: Paul Glare is in the speakers’ bureau and receives an honorarium from Cephalon. He also serves on the advisory board and receives an honorarium from both Archimedes Pharmaceuticals and Amgen.

*A commercial interest is defined as any entity producing, marketing, reselling, or distributing healthcare goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients. (Exclusions at the time of this writing included 501-C nonprofit organizations, government organizations, liability and health insurance providers, non-healthcare-related companies, group medical practices, and for-profit healthcare providers, blood banks and diagnostic laboratories.)
