Kind, strong, humble, revolutionary—these are only some of the words that describe Marjorie Kagawa Singer, PhD MA MN RN FAAN. Known as “Margie,” Kagawa Singer has dedicated her life to giving the idea of “culture” a persistent voice in the medical setting. She has published countless pieces on the topic and travels throughout the country spreading a message of inclusion. Despite beginning her professional journey in the ’60s, she remains energized to help bring the best care to the patient bedside, and it starts with culture.
