AAHPM Advocacy—The Year in Review

AAHPM’s strategic plan specifies that the Academy will increase public awareness of hospice and palliative medicine and its value to patients and families, advocate for public policy that supports individuals with serious illness and the professionals that care for them, and promote sustainable reimbursement for the field, including in emerging payment and delivery models. In 2018, AAHPM made great strides in advancing its advocacy agenda in pursuit of these objectives, often working with stakeholder partners to achieve mutual goals. The following are just a few of the key efforts and achievements in priority areas over the past year.
