HMDCB Receives $100,000 Grant from Kindred Hospice Foundation

In 2017, the Hospice Medical Director Certification Board (HMDCB) was the recipient of a $100,000 grant from the Kindred Hospice Foundation. This support will help HMDCB launch its recertification program, as well as gain additional visibility for its initial certification by identifying physicians, CEOs, administrators, and others who would benefit from the certification program. AAHPM provided a letter of support and also provided continued support in 2018.

According to HMDCB President-Elect Brian Murphy, MD, “This grant is a significant step forward in helping HMDCB accomplish its mission—to relieve suffering and improve quality of life by promoting the excellence and professional competency of hospice medical directors.
